The new year starts with good news: since January 1st, 2019 Elementar Analysensysteme GmbH covers 100 % of its demand for electricity from certified, renewable energy. This is obtained entirely from ecological energy sources and thus protects the environment. This saves CO2 emissions of 388.42 tonnes annually. For this contribution to environmental protection, we have received a climate protection certificate from our electricity supplier: a gratifying testimony to our future-oriented and ecology-minded positioning.
With this step, we consistently follow the path we have taken. Aware of our responsibility to nature and the environment, we focus on sustainability - from the environmentally friendly development of our analyzers to the construction of our new headquarters in Langenselbold, Germany. The building was designed and realized in accordance to the criteria of the German Sustainable Building Council and special emphasis was placed on the energy concept. The primary energy demand of the building has been optimized so that it is well below the requirement value of the German Energy Saving Ordinance for new buildings. As a further energy-saving measure we rely on a generous use of daylight and the consistent use of LEDs throughout the building to minimize the energy demand for lighting. In addition, we deliberately chose to use regenerative geothermal energy for the heating and cooling of the building. By covering the heating and cooling energy demand of 83.7 % from renewable energies, we not only meet the Renewable Energies Heat Act according to §5, but significantly exceed the required minimum share of 50 %.
